About Newell Bringhurst

Dr. Newell Bringhurst is an independent scholar and Professor Emeritus of History and Political Science at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Utah and his Ph.D. at the University of California, Davis.

Newell is a former president and member of the Mormon History Association. He is also a former president and member of The John Whitmer Historical Association.
