About Brian Hales

Dr. Brian C. Hales is a Utah-based anesthesiologist and amateur LDS historian. He received his medical degree from the University of Utah and did his residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. His book, Modern Polygamy and Mormon Fundamentalism: The Generations after the Manifesto, received the “Best Book of 2007 Award” from the John Whitmer Historical Association.

Brian is a former president and member of the John Whitmer Historical Association. He has also served as the president of the Utah Medical Association. Brian was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for fourteen years.
